Recently there have been a number of people who have come to our website (via an internet search) after recieving an email that contains a message regarding an ACH transaction that was rejected. Usually these messages contain a link and either refer to the Electronic Payments Association or NACHA (National Automated Clearing House Association). In each instance these messages have proved to be fraudulent and are a phishing attempt to gain information about your bank account.
What should you do? First, do not click on any links or open any attachments. You can report the sender to NACHA by forwarding the message to abuse@nacha.org.
ACH Payments does not send any such email notifications. For more information you can read the NACHA alert at http://www.nacha.org/news/newsDetail.cfm/RecentBusinessNewsID/236.
